I build GeoAI tools for mining, agriculture, and forestry, which puts me in a lot of rooms where that technology meets the actual ground.

An exploration team making sense of a hyperspectral survey, an Ag operation weighing whether satellite crop-stress data is worth paying for, a forestry group sitting on LiDAR they have no time to process, and the engineers building for all three. The same tensions keep surfacing in those conversations. Drill Down AI is where I write them down.

What exactly can you expect from The Drill Down AI?

• It's a newsletter, every Monday, about a 5-minute read.

• Field Translation. I take one real capability - hyperspectral classification, an NDVI time series, InSAR deformation - and lay out what it actually does, where it breaks down, and how to tell the two apart before you're paying for it.

• Signal vs. Noise. One claim making the rounds that week, stress-tested. Sometimes I call it out. Sometimes I defend the tool everyone's dismissing.

• Weekly Anecdote - A snippet from a conversation I had with someone out in the field from the this week and what matters to them.
